The Montestregone vineyard

Montestregone is located in an area that borders Liguria and therefore benefits from the sea breezes. Here, we encounter wines where the characteristics of each vine variety, that is elegance with finesse and drinkability, come together resulting in a wine comparable to other great wines of Piedmont. The three hectare vineyard of Montestregone, at 250 meters above sea-level and on an exposed south-easterly site, sits in a natural amphi-theatre.

At Montestregone there are 4000 Dolcetto vines, trained on the classical Guyot system and these give rise to an austere wine with an impressive tannic structure and a marked varietal character. The red “Montestregone”, is a wine that, after aging in French oak barrels, strikes a perfect balance between power and elegance.

From 6000 Barbera vines, a warm, deep purple-red wine is created and this is characterized by its fresh acidity and a spontaneous red berry and red fruit perfume; a fine Barbera of extraordinary drinkability.
